College Instructional Labs

The college maintains two instructional labs for general college usage.  The labs are located on the first floor of the Academic Surge Building in rooms 1116 and 1044.  To reserve the labs for instruction, please contact coeitss-support@ucdavis.edu.

The lab configurations are:

Academic Surge Room 1116

  • 32 VDI Zero Clients in classroom setup
  • Dedicated instructor VDI Zero Client connected to overhead projector
  • User authentication automatically performed for all UCD students taking one or more Engineering courses.
  • Software packages include
    • ArcGIS
    • Inkscape
    • MATLAB
    • MS Office Suite
    • Solidworks

Academic Surge Room 1044

    • 25 VDI Zero Clients in classroom setup
    • Dedicated instructor VDI Zero Client connected to overhead projector
    • User authentication automatically performed for all UCD students taking one or more Engineering courses.
    • Software packages include
      • ArcGIS
      • Inkscape
      • MATLAB
      • MS Office Suite
      • Solidworks

 

To Reserve a Room

Send a Message to coeitss-support@ucdavis.edu with the following:

  • Name Of Class:
  • Quarter: (Fall 2013, Winter 2014, etc)
  • CRN#:
  • Class Size:
  • Room and Hours Desired:
  • Instructional Contact: (If known)
  • Contact Email: (If known)
  • Software Needed: (If known)

Important Note: Priority for scheduling laboratories at specific times goes to classes with lab or discussion sections during those times. Blocking out times for general access will be superseded by a scheduled lab or discussion section.Conflicts between different classes will be resolved on a first-come, first-served basis… so, get your reservations in early!

Reservations submitted before the end of the previous quarter will be rejected. (I.E. – No reservations for Fall 2014 until Fall 2013 has completed.) 

Please let us know well in advance of the quarter of your specific software needs. This will ensure that the applications you need are available when the quarter starts.
