Recognizing the importance of high-speed networking and its impacts on research, the Provost has sponsored a number of wiring upgrades to campus buildings. The goal is to update existing infrastructure that is no longer competitive and meeting the needs of the researchers.
Bainer Hall was targeted as one of the priorities for this project. The wiring in Bainer is CAT3 supporting up to 10Mbps network speeds. The new wiring will provide access to the campus network at up to 1Gbps speeds.
Replacement of the 450 network data NAMs in the building is complete.
