Description: SAN Disruption and Networking Issues

Symptoms:

Users are reporting being unable to access or were getting slow response from services dependent on the SAN located at the Quest data center.

 

The SAN has experienced multiple controller reboots which has disrupted some services. Some clients and client applications were showing intermittent connectivity issues.

 

Users reported intermittent network connectivity issues.

 

Affected Services:

Any services dependent on the SAN including but not limited to:

 

  • ucdavis.edu
  • myucdavis.edu
  • sisweb.ucdavis.edu
  • dcfs.ucdavis.edu
  • Banner
  • LDAP
  • CAS
  • Geckomail
  • uConnect
  • Sympa
  • CMS Resources

 

Actions:

Data Center staff worked with NetApp engineers to identify and resolve the cause of the SAN controller reboots.
